15 Awards Presented at Boston Film Festival

BOSTON, MA SEPTEMBER 19, 2006 - 15 Awards were presented to actors and filmmakers attending The 22nd Annual Boston Film Festival (September 8 to 15, 2006), it was announced today by Robin Dawson, executive director and John Michael Williams, creative director. The sponsors of the 22nd Boston Film Festival were: LTK Bar and Kitchen, A&E, Bravo, AMC Loews Theatres, American Airlines, Rounder Records, Avid, Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Dav El. All premieres and screenings were held at the AMC Loews Boston Common Theatre with director and cast Q&As following. The 2006 awards recipients were:
  • 2006 Film Achievement Award, Chazz Palminteri, "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," First Look
  • Best Documentary, "The Ground Truth," Focus Features
  • Mass Impact Award, "Deliver Us From Evil," Lionsgate
  • Best Actress, Robin Tunney "Open Window" and Rebecca Lowman "Eve of Understanding" (tie)
  • Best Director of the Year, Tony Goldwyn, "The Last Kiss"
  • Best New Filmmaker, Sage Stallone "Vic"
  • Best Actor, Clu Gulagher "Vic"
  • Best Film, "The Last Kiss," Director Tony Goldwyn
  • 2006 Visionary Award, Director Christian Volckman, "Renaissance," Miramax
  • Avid Award for Best Cinematography, "House of Usher," Director Hayley Cloake
  • Best Music in a Film, "Hip Hop Project," Directors, Matt Ruskin/Scott Rosenberg, Producer Bruce Willis
